Pension Reform

New Jersey is attempting to reform its chronically underfunded pension system for public employees. This week the state Senate passed a package of reform measures. Proposed changes include capping unused sick time retirees can claim at retirement, limiting participation of part-time employees in the pension system, and requiring employees to contribute 1.5% of their salaries to health benefits.
